Sensory Garden

Reif Estate Winery invites you to explore our Wine Sensory Garden to ponder the colours, aromas and flavours characteristically used to describe wines. The gardens are designed to complement and reflect the heritage of our original 1870's Coach House while featuring plantings representative of the colour, flavours and aromas of different grape varieties typically used to produce wines in the region.

Guests may stroll through the garden at their leisure with a glass of wine or enjoy an artisan cheese plate or local charcuterie under the arbour.

Open May through October 11:00 - 5:00 p.m. | No Reservations Required

Highlights include our Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc garden where guests can view the light foliage and flowers, as well as enjoy the aromas of honeysuckle, grapefruit mint and coriander. Chardonnay and Icewine are interpreted with yellow foliage and flowers along with plantings of vanilla grass, lemon verbena, peach autumn and pineapple sage. The lighter reds like Gamay Noir and Pinot Noir are interpreted with pink foliage alongside aromatic herbs such as rosemary and berries and cream mint. The fullest reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are showcased in the "red" section of the garden, along with aromatic plantings of chocolate mint and oregano.
