Spring came in with a wet April and a drier May which allowed a slow consistent flowering. The summer was wet and had temperatures 2-3 degrees below normal. Once again the fall made the vintage, drier warm temperatures and cool nights allowed the fruit to develop further.
Winemaker's Notes:
When the founders of Ashlar wines set about to find a symbol for it's finest vintages, the Ashlar was the obvious choice. Ashlar meaning 'cut stone' was a tool used to build some of the greatest edifices of the human era. In this respect Ashlar became the symbol for community, integrity and charity.
Tasting Notes:
Enjoy flavours of black currant, blackberry and plum as well as the satisfaction of knowing you are helping others. A portion of proceeds from every bottle sold is donated to charitable causes.
Food Pairings:
Pair with grilled meats and subtle spicy foods enhancing whatever dish it accompanies...or as a fine sipping wine.
Shipping charges in Canada range from $30.00 to $50.00 per 12 bottles (case). Reif Estate online orders are available to Ontario, B.C., Alberta and Manitoba addresses only. You must be 19 or older to order and must be available to sign for your order with proper identification.
