"From the fabulous 2010 vintage comes this Franc, which possess a deep cherry colour. Plums, cassis, dark cherries, tobacco, smoke and black pepper are layered on a medium body. Elegantly styled, the flavours carry long on the finish, while the tannins ensure at least 4 years of longevity. Pair with herb and olive oil marinated grilled pork chops with sautéed Swiss chard or vegetarian lasagna. Score 88"

Vintage & Viticulture
We experienced a relatively mild and dry winter and early spring. Bud break was about 2 weeks earlier and May brought in summer like weather. The rest of the season remained warm and allowed grapes to reach ripeness not seen in a couple of years. The grapes were harvested from a 2 acre block planted in 1991.
Winemaker's Notes:
Beautiful ripe clean fruit was pressed and allowed to ferment on the skins for 14 days. The wine was pressed and allowed to undergo 100% malolactic. Aging was done in older French and American barriques to maintain fruitiness and allow more subtle wood notes.
Tasting Notes:
Showing as a great vintage, our Cabernet Franc displays bright red fruit moving from raspberry, cherries to plums and cassis. Violet floral notes with a spine of lively acidity supported by firm tannins. Finish is on the fruit. Tasted August 26, 2011.
Food Pairings:
Grilled red meat especially lamb or grilled red peppers and crimini mushrooms.
