The Fool, with all his worldly possessions in one small pack, is always on his way to a brand new beginning.” This image is the perfect representation of the release of our Gamay Nouveau which marks the beginning of our 2011 vintage releases and portrays the light hearted and fun nature of this wine.
Winemaker's Notes:
Gamay Nouveau is a red wine made from the Gamay Noir grape and is traditionally produced in the Beaujolais region of France to mark the end of the harvest and is always officially released for sale on the third Thursday of November. It is amazing to think that just weeks before this wine was a cluster of grapes in the vineyard but by a rapid fermentation, and a quick bottling, all is ready at the midnight hour. Around the world, the race is on to be among the first to taste and enjoy this new wine.
Tasting Notes:
The Fool is a bright ruby red and highly aromatic, reminiscent of candied cherries. On the palate red, red cherries with racy acid and hidden in the background is a ribbon of tannins. It can be enjoyed slightly chilled @ 13°C on its own or as an aperitif. Tasted October 21, 2011.

Fruity flavours on the palate are perfect for Christmas dinner; slow roasted turkey, sage stuffing and cranberry sauce.
