This rare varietal is only grown in a handful of vineyards in Ontario and is also known as Trollinger x Riesling. 2009 was an interesting vintage starting off cool and ending with a long warm fall. A cooler year is always a plus for fruity varietals that benefit from a racy acidity.
Winemaker's Notes:
Grapes were harvested Nov. 12, 2010 which makes it one of the latest Riesling harvests on record. Juice was clarified using our flotation system and fermentation was completed in 8 days. The wine as then taken off lees as fast as possible to maintain fruitiness.
Tasting Notes:
This rare varietal is only grown in a handful of vineyards in Ontario and is also known as Trollinger x Riesling. With characteristic floral aromas and flavours, the bright acidity of this wine is complimented by the off-dry style in which it's made.
Food Pairings:
The touch of sweetness and bright acidity will be the perfect complement to white fish, baked chicken, vegetarian quiches and salads.
Shipping charges in Ontario are $30.00 per 12 bottles (case). Reif Estate online orders are available to Ontario addresses only.
