"88/100 A meaty, robust red with dark fruit and earthy aromas. Just the right amount of oak. Decant for 1-2 hours for maximum pleasure. Food matches: grilled red meats with roasted vegetables or Portobello mushrooms. "

Vintage & Viticulture
We experienced a relatively mild and dry winter and early spring. Bud break was about 2 weeks earlier and May brought in summer like weather. The rest of the season remained warm and allowed grapes to reach ripeness not seen in a couple of years. 2010 is shaping up to be one of the best red wine vintages we have seen.
Winemaker's Notes:
The juice pressed from clean, ripe fruit underwent fermentation for 18 days, using selected yeast. Oak barrel aging in predominantly French Oak with 10% Hungarian and American Oak which contribute to the distinct intensity of this superior red wine. Blend consists of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of black currant, raspberry and black berry fruit notes integrated with a sweet oak of pepper spice. Smooth on the palate with pepper spice adding to complexity of layers of bush fruit. Fruit lingers on finish with a balance of acidity and firm tannins. Tasted March 2, 2012
Food Pairings:
Grilled red meats with roasted vegetables or Portobello mushrooms.
