A cooler and wetter season than normal was conducive to creating aromatically integrated wines. The vineyards performed as expected, efficiently removing all the excess water through the vineyards under drainage and patiencerewarded as dry sunny periods in November allowed fruit to concentrate.
Winemaker's Notes:
Merlot (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) grapes were crushed and went through a three week maceration. The must was lightly pressed and malolactic fermentation was completed in large SS tanks. Wines were aged for 9 months in a variety of French and American oak. Wines were made separately and the final blend was made to create a rich, velvety well balanced wine.
